Dear Dr Mellanby,
I’m a historian at King’s College London researching the history of Nigerian universities. I would be fascinated to know if you are related to Professor Kenneth Mellanby, the founding principal of University College Ibadan. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for your help.
Best wishes,
Dr Tim Livsey.

Dear Alex Mellanby,
I have already read your first book and I don’t ever want to run into a Trog. EVER. When I started reading your book I couldn’t stop. My mum would ask me to come down to the kitchen and stop reading, which i found impossible, as i still do with your second book. So far i think the series are incredible! All of the details are immense and you describe everything as if I were there!!! π I wanted to ask if you named David after your daughters husband? Thank you for the wonderful present of these books!
Best Wishes,
Flo Buck

So many thanks for your post. I’ve only just managed to get my website up and running again and haven’t replied to w whole pile of messages – so lots of apologies. I didn’t name David after son-in-law, at least I don’t think I did. The trouble with writing is that your brain adds things you don’t necessarily mean to include.
